The Sachtler camera stabilizer systems are named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt. Her hunt with bow and arrows symbolizes the operator’s “hunt” for pictures: your camera stabilizer system is your bow and with the camera as your arrow you shoot your prey, the picture.

Since 2001, the artemis camera stabilizer systems are manufactured in the Sachtler special workshop located at the Camera Dynamics headquarters in Eching near Munich, Bavaria.  Here, we assemble the large-scale production of our camera stabilizer systems and afterwards customize each system individually to meet our customers’ needs. Thorough production processes and quality controls guarantee functionality, precision and reliability.

As all Sachtler products, the artemis systems combine German engineering with experiences and suggestions of artemis users worldwide. The artemis systems’ proficiency and innovative approach is based on the close relationship between the artemis team and its customers whose ideas and suggestions help us to design the professional products operators have always dreamed of.

Due to their professional background and the user-friendly design of their modules and components such as spring arm, vest, gimbal etc., artemis systems and their components are compatible with other camera stabilizer systems so that you can upgrade your existing equipment of other manufacturers with artemis modules and components.

ACT2: Upgrading modules instead of buying a new system
Because of its modular construction you are always on the safe side when you acquire artemis systems and components – even in the future.  If technical standards change in the course of new camera technologies, we will immediately develop an appropriate module or cable and present new components as soon as possible. Therefore, you can always adjust your system to your actual requirements and needs without having to buy a whole new system.

Many new artemis components are named ACT2. ACT2 stands for the second generation of Artemis Component Technology. ACT describes the central part of the artemis philosophy. One fundamental idea behind the modular construction of the artemis camera stabilizer systems is that you can use your first system for many years by upgrading single modules or components. Thus, you retain up to 80 per cent of your original investment. ACT2 stands also for the fact that we incorporate all available information and suggestions of customers and operators into the next generation of products, components and solutions.
